NYX HAUL

NYX is one of my all time favourite brands. They have such a vast array of products and are surprisingly high quality especially for the price. If I could only use one brand for the rest of my life, they would be it.  NYX is one of those brands that always has new products coming out, so a lot of releases are slip from my mind and others are so popular they're hard to come by (I'm looking at you Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks). My collection has so much from this brand already but given how good and affordable their products are, more is always welcome.

Micro Brow Pencil in Taupe ($10)
Lately every brand has been coming out with brow products to follow the craze. NYX has been making brow products for years now and they do it well. This is their latest brow pencil and they have it down. It's practically identical to Anastasia  Beverly Hill's Brow Wiz but at half the price. It's a super stiff pencil which swatches horribly, but works well on brows. Its dual ended with the fine pencil on one end and a spoolie brush on the other, making it super convenient. White & Matte Black Liquid Liners ($7)
I love these so much. They're so easy to apply and last well on the lids. The white is the real winner here for me. It's a great alternative to Lime Crime's Lunar Sea eyeliner for those of us boycotting Lime Crime (See why here). I love it for doing double liner looks or alone with bright eyeshadow for a really graphic look. The matte black liner is a nice staple to have in my collection. They do make it in a vinyl formula as well if that's what you prefer. Both the white and black liners dry super matte, although the black takes a little longer to dry. These are some of the better liquid liners I've tried and totally worth picking up.

Gotcha Covered Concealer in Ivory ($6)
I didn't expect to love this but I do. It's the perfect constancy for my under eyes. The feeling is very similar to It Cosmetic's Bye Bye Undereye, which given the packaging may have been intentional. It doesn't crease or cake up yet gives amazing coverage. I can't speak much to the waterproof claims but it does last on my skin all day so that's really all I need. It comes in 10 shades, which is a pretty good selection.  This contains coconut oil, which is probably what makes it so moisturizing, but might pose a problem for some. Coconut oil is wonderful for some and a nighmare for others. If you know coconut oil doesn't work for your skin I'd skip out on this. Luckily for me my skin loves it and I adore this concealer. Hands down the best concealer from NYX so far. As of right now it's only available on the brand's website but hopefully it'll be at Ulta soon.

Illuminator in Ritualistic ($9)
I cannot believe how long I went without this. During a move back in January this broke and I completely forgot about it. I've been looking for a new highlighter to really give my skin a nice pale glow. Everything seems way too deep on me or has a bit too much glitter for my taste. This is perfect. I feel ethereal when I wear this because it's like a beam of white light on my cheekbones. It has the right balance of gold and white for fair skin. I'm mad at myself for not running out and buying this after it initially broke.

Color Correcting Powder in Lavender ($10)
I know everybody is all about the banana powder and I get it, I used to be too. Truth is, it doesn't look good on everyone. NYX does make a yellow correcting powder though, if you're interested. For those of us either too fair or too cool toned to have the warm yellow to set our concealer, there is hope yet. This lavender powder is finely milled and beautifully brightening. The purple is very subtle in this but it does help to bring light to wherever it's placed. I personally like to set my under eye concealer with this (it plays very well with the Gotcha Covered) but I'm able to use it anywhere I want a little extra brightness.
