THE PRODUCT THAT GOT RID OF MY ACNE

I have had acne since 2004. I feel like I've tried nearly every product and method for clearing my skin with little to no success. I've used proactiv, epiduo, a ridiculous amount of drugstore acne kits, all natural products, harsh cleansers, gentle cleaners, diy recipes, raw african black soap, oil cleansing and even just plain old water. A little over a year ago I discovered the SkincareAddiction subreddit and it changed my life. There was a slew of posts on there documenting their success with Curology (then named PocketDerm). Before I rave about it know that I am not sponsored. I just absolutely love this. I went from having a face covered in acne to about 1-4 active breakouts at the worst and only some discoloration. I never thought my skin would be this clear. Curology offers the first month completely free if you have a referral link and you're able to cancel any time. Completely bare skin upon waking up. Discoloration but no breakouts.
I plan on doing a post on my full skincare routine but this is undoubtedly the star of it. I wish I had before photos to share but I was so self conscious about my skin and I honestly didn't think that I would ever be comfortable posting a photo without makeup on. I used to count the blemishes on face when I got home when I was in school. I distinctly remember a time when I broke down sobbing after counting over 200 spots. I started carrying foundation and concealer in my bag for touch ups when I was in fourth grade. Between every class I was in the bathroom mirror checking to see if anything had poked through my makeup. My skin was almost always on my mind. It took a long time before I let anyone outside of my family see me without makeup on. Knowing that struggle is part of the reason I'm so happy with my skin now.

My Curology formula found on the back of the bottle

Curology is meant to be like an online dermatologist. You send photos of your bare skin along with a questionnaire that gives the licensed dermatologist enough information to figure out a formula that could work for your skin. If it turns out that it doesn't mesh with your skin you can message your derm and they will adjust it and send you a new bottle. It's $20 per month which includes acne mediation, your personal derm and consultations. Thinking about how much I've spent on acne products that barely had an impact on my skin I'd say that's a pretty good price. You can ask your derm for recommendations and they can get you discounts on certain brands. They respond fairly quickly and are always happy to help you improve your skincare routine. Sometimes they'll throw in freebies with your shipment. You can change your shipment schedule at any time as well. I can't tell you how grateful I am to have found Curology. It's only currently available in the US because that's where the dermatologists are licensed. I really do suggest trying it for free for the full month and if it turns out you don't like it cancel and move on. You really dont have anything to lose.
